Fixed term to 31st July 2020
We require a confident and responsible individual to champion and ensure the success of the Office for Students (OfS) funded Go Higher West Yorkshire National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) project in Leeds Trinity University.
The National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) aims to reduce the gap between the most and least represented groups in terms of progression to Higher Education. Our project is at an exciting stage with Phase 2 about to begin, which includes an expanded remit to provide Higher Education Outreach information and signposting to all schools and colleges in West Yorkshire.
You will work with colleagues from within Leeds Trinity University and across the Go Higher West Yorkshire partnership to ensure the successful delivery of the project. This will include working within the University to arrange and manage events and activities to raise attainment and aspirations, and - most importantly - support the application and transition of pupils into Higher Education. These events may take place at Leeds Trinity University, at a partner institution, at schools/colleges or in community locations across West Yorkshire and involve young people aged 13 to 19 and their key influencers (parents, carers, and community, teachers, advisors or other professionals). You will also work within Leeds Trinity University to support signposting of schools/colleges to existing outreach activity.
You will help ensure the effective involvement of key stakeholders in the project and work within the wider team to set, progress and meet Programme targets and objectives. You will bring your knowledge and experience of higher education and of working with key influencers, young people and other key stakeholders, to develop innovative and effective activity to help meet project targets. There will be the requirement to attend Go Higher West Yorkshire meetings as necessary as a representative from your institution, and to support the work of the central Go Higher West Yorkshire NCOP team.
The role is extremely varied and requires applicants to work on a flexible basis, including occasional evenings and weekends as required and travel to locations across West Yorkshire.
Please note this is a Fixed Term position until 31 July 2020 in the first instance, in recognition of the confirmed funding from NCOP. The allocation for 2020/21 is yet to be confirmed.
Employees of the University have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous contributory pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, on-site sport and fitness centre membership, car park permit scheme and Employee Assistance Programme. We also operate a free shuttle bus to Horsforth station and have an externally owned day nursery facility on campus, along with plenty of shopping, leisure and travel discounts available. Our Juice health and wellbeing platform provides the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities and includes high quality health articles relating to current national and University specific initiatives.
