We are seeking to appoint an inspirational leader to this newly created role, with the vision to develop and embed our sustainability strategy and culture as part of overall strategic plan.
As a member of the university’s Leadership Team, the Director of Sustainability will work alongside colleagues’ institution wide, working in partnership to deliver our responsibilities and seek innovative ways to ensure our University is considered sector leading. The role will be an ambassador for the University on a national and international basis and will require relationship building with key stakeholders internally and externally. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Sustainability will assume responsibility for our environmental, community and social impacts as well as working with other key members of the leadership team to develop graduates with embedded sustainability values.
The ideal candidate will have a track record of developing and maintaining impactful networks and partnerships, they will also have relevant experience of sustainability of the built environment as well as teaching, research environments. This should be complemented by strong leadership skills with the ability to create a culture of excellence, enhancement, collaboration, and respect, underpinned by strongly held values. Candidates should possess a degree and/or significant high-level professional experience with a strong record of intellectual engagement on issues to do with sustainability, equality, inclusion and widening participation.
