Do you have a track record in developing and maintaining high-traffic websites? Are you passionate about UX? Do you want to play a major role in the implementation and roll-out of a new CMS?
Leeds Trinity University is looking for an experienced, creative and talented Web Developer to join our award-winning Marketing and Communications team.
This is a brand new role, created to support the redevelopment of the University's externally facing website. You will play an instrumental role in the implementation and roll-out of the new institutional Web Content Management System (CMS), as well as the ongoing development of this new website and the day-to-day management of the CMS, its components and its users.
Working with the digital team, a partner design/UX agency and our CMS vendor, you will completely redevelop the site. Once the website is developed, we will be taking an iterative approach to ongoing web design and development and as Web Developer, you will take a lead role as we continue to iterate and improve the site's performance. You will build and maintain a Pattern Library and do design sprints to continuously improve user experience and optimise conversion rate.
You will also play a key role in our external campaign development and execution, which will include the development of landing pages, split testing and email communications templates.
This role is suited to an experienced Developer who has worked on similar-sized website redevelopment projects. You will be comfortable with writing code and using a number of web technologies including some, or all of the following - HTML/HTML5, CSS/SASS, PHP, JQuery, JSON, JavaScript. That said, we believe a good Developer isn't limited by the tools or frameworks they currently use and we are open to new ways of working and the adoption of new technologies.
You will have experience of designing and implementing responsive designs for large and complex websites and will be passionate about creating accessible and delightful interfaces and experiences.
You will also have strong interpersonal skills and be an excellent communicator in both technical and non-technical areas, working collaboratively with colleagues across the university and providing support and guidance for other members of the Digital and Marketing teams.
Higher Education Web and Digital teams are exciting and rewarding places to work, thanks to our chance to work on high-traffic websites for external audiences. We work in a very competitive market with lots of room for innovative solutions to make experiences better for all our users, so this is your opportunity to shape this new role and make a big impact.
Candidates invited to interview will be required to undertake a short test as part of the process.
Employees of the University have access to a wide range of benefits including our generous contributory pension schemes, excellent holiday entitlements, on-site sport and fitness centre membership, car park permit scheme and Employee Assistance Programme. We also operate a free shuttle bus to Horsforth station and have an externally owned day nursery facility on campus, along with plenty of shopping, leisure and travel discounts available.
