Leeds Trinity University has embarked on the delivery of a strategic ambition to develop their range of public sector programmes and research to support local, regional and national developments. Located within the growing School of Criminology, Investigations and Policing (CIP), the Prisons and Custody team is highly ambitious, and are seeking an exceptional candidate who is passionate about business innovation in the prison sector. The post holder will have oversight of the Prisons and Custody team’s postgraduate and practice-based provision, with a view to diversify and develop our income streams. The post holder will have authority over programme management, brand reputation and financial targets and is expected to have a renowned national and international profile. They will have the ability to engage and collaborate with existing and prospective stakeholders in the prison and wider criminal justice sector.
We are looking for applicants with experience of significant professional practice and senior leadership within the Criminal Justice System, in particular practitioners with proven track records of leading prisons. The programme challenges and explores the societal inequalities and indirect discrimination that manifest within the Criminal Justice System and therefore, we welcome applicants from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, who can make contributions in this area. Having a PhD (or being close to completing one) or equivalent level of professional experience and qualification is essential.
